Survey shows Australians seriously concerned about climate and health impacts

This morning Asthma Australia, members of the Climate and Health Alliance, released survey findings that revealed 70 per cent of Australians think governments should act to protect people whose health is vulnerable to climate change.

These survey results come on the heels of the recent consultation for Australia's first National Health and Climate Strategy, where it was recommended a 'Health in All Policies' approach to climate action would be key to unlocking the benefits, and preventing the worst impacts, of climate change on human health.

"This survey confirms what we have been hearing for far too long - Australians know that the climate is impacting their health, and they want to see their governments take ambitious action," said Roland Sapsford, CEO at the Climate and Health Alliance.

"We support Asthma Australia in their call for a Strategy that addresses the root impacts of climate and health impacts through a Health in All Policies approach".
